Story

Whilst on my year abroad I have decided to run the Santiago Half Marathon on the 7th April 2013. This will be my first ever long distance run so it is quite a challenge. I am running it for The Georgia Frances Tait Forever Fund. Georgia was the daughter of a very close family of mine. She was a young, bright and talent girl who sadly died on her 18th birthday in 2011 from Meningococcal Bacteria Meningitis after recently going on holiday with friends. Within 12 hours of first noticing the symptoms of Meningitis she was pronounced brain dead in the hospital. Meningitis is a horrible disease that attacks the body very rapidly and doctors still lack a lot of knowledge of how to prevent this, research is desperately needed. Losing her was incredibly sad for everybody, especially for her family. We can’t bring her back but whatever money you can donate, regardless of how little, will go towards research into a vaccine against Meningitis and can help prevent this from happening again to another family. Please dig deep and help support. Thank you.
